Why choose to rent a furnished apartment instead of staying in a hotel?

Because renting a furnished apartment cost less than staying at a hotel: At Home Hotel is the alternative to the traditional hotel which offers you the possibility to stay in a fully furnished and equipped apartment to give you that at home feeling. We have carefully selected our apartments as if we were going to live in them ourselves, in order to make your stay an unforgettable one.

Are all of our apartments visible on the website?

Indeed, all of our apartments are published on our website. You can even take a virtual tour of each of our apartments. Nevertheless, we receive new apartments on a regular basis. Please be patient as sometimes it takes awhile for these new apartments to appear on our site. Please do not hesitate to contact us; we will be pleased to inform you regarding any new apartments.

What is an At Home Hotel apartment equipped with?

All of our apartments are fully furnished and equipped to allow for a more enjoyable and comfortable stay. Every apartment has an entirely equipped kitchen, clean and comfortable bathroom, newly acquired bedding, television, stereo system, high speed internet connection and the majority of them are equipped with a telephone restricted to incoming calls only.

Is At Home Hotel only for gays and lesbians?

Because At Home Hotel is a gay owned and operated, it has always been our philosophy that we are in a better position to understand the gay and lesbian community in order to meet their expectations. We are proud to serve the gay and lesbian community. However, we are also happy to welcome anyone who is gay friendly and can respect their values.

Is there a minimum length of stay?

Yes. While most of our competitors require you to reserve for one-week minimum stay, at At Home Hotel we have decided to short our minimum stay to three or four nights, depending on the season. You will notice that this is really the bare minimum to visit and appreciate this beautiful city of Paris.

Does the nightly rental rate depend on the number of guests?

Nightly rental rates for a studio or 1 bedroom apartment are based on two-person occupancy. For 2 bedroom apartments, the nightly rental rate is based on four-person occupancy. Depending on the apartments sleeping capacity, a small fee will be added for any extra guests. However this leaves you with the possibility to share the apartment with friends and divide the cost for a cheaper stay. Certain of our studio apartments can accommodate up to three guests. The majority of our 1 bedroom apartments can accommodate very comfortably up to 2 extra guests. For any additional guests, there will be an extra 26 euros per night and per guest charge. This small fee will cover the necessary preparation to accommodate that extra guest including extra towels and linens.

How to go about reserving your furnished apartment?

When visiting our website, you will be able to select one or more apartments of your choice in which you would like to stay simply by clicking on the icon “add to your wish list.” When completing your reservation request, your selected apartments will automatically appear on this form. Upon receipt of this request form, we will do our best, depending on availability to match you to one of your selections. In any case, we will send you a listing of apartments that correspond to your criteria (i.e. neighbourhood, size and type). Once you have decided on an apartment, we will send you a confirmation form which must be signed and sent back to us within ten days either by fax or by mail. Please remember to include a 30% deposit, which is required to guarantee your reservation. Unfortunately, we are unable to hold your reservation until such time as we have received the confirmation form and your deposit. Upon receipt of the signed confirmation form, we will send back an email or fax confirming your reservation, as well as practical information for your arrival and your stay.

How can I pay the deposit to guarantee my reservations?

We accept three types of payment:

- By credit card (Visa or Mastercard) including name of cardholder, account number, expiration date and security code which can be provided to us either by fax or directly to one of our booking agents by telephone.

- By wire transfer. If you choose this method of payment, we will provide you with our banking coordinates to execute the transfer.This payment is possible for Nice for the French customers only.

- If you have a French bank account, you can pay by check in Euros. This payment isn't possible for a location in Nice.

Is a security deposit required during my stay?

Yes. We request a security deposit for every booking. The amount is a function of the size of the apartment and the length of your stay. We offer clients the possibility to leave an imprint of their credit card, which is not charged but is pre-authorized by your bank. At the end of your stay, if the apartment is left in the same condition as when you arrived, we will return your deposit or the credit card imprint and your account will not be charged.

Warning for NICE: For rental "Long Term" exceeding 21 days, as pre-authorization has a duration of 21 days, we take the deposit or cash or check

When is the balance of my payment and security deposit due?

The balance of your payment and the security deposit are due upon your arrival or when we met directly to your apartment. Under special circumstances (such as late arrivals) and upon your request, we can make arrangements for you to prepay the balance of your payment and your security deposit in full before your arrival.

How can I make a last-minute reservation?

The best way to make a list-minute reservation is to call us at +33 (0)1 44 54 97 00. A member of our team will assist you in servicing your request.

How can I obtain discounts and promotions during my stay?

To take advantage of our discounts and promotions, please visit our site regularly under the promotions section. We offer discounts and promotions from time to time during special event and exhibition periods which take place in Paris. Please be advised that for all stays over 7 days, you will receive an automatic discount of 10%.

Is it possible to cancel a reservation?

Yes. As indicated in our general conditions if you cancel 30 days before your arrival, we refund your deposit in its entirety. If you cancel after the 30 days before your arrival, we refund 50% of your deposit. If you are a no-show, the entire amount of your booking is due in full.

What is included in the rental price?

The apartment comes well furnished and equipped, electricity for stays less than three weeks, hot water and Internet connection (if available) are included, as well as our agency fees and services. The reservation fee and tow of stay is not included in the price of our apartments published on our site. When we respond to your reservation request, we will outline the total price, including the reservation fee and relevant taxes.

Is it possible to reserve additional, a la carte services?

Of course. You can choose among a suite of services we provide to our clients, such as airport transfers, cell phone rentals, museum passes, etc. For additional information, please visit the services section of our web site.

What happens upon my arrival?

Agency of Paris: We request that you come to our offices to obtain the apartment keys, which is in close proximity to the majority of our apartments. Upon arrival, we will have you sign the rental contract and an apartment condition checklist. The balance of your payment is due at this time, as well as an imprint of your credit card for your security deposit. Our team is available to greet you at our offices conveniently located near the Pompidou Centre at 236 rue Saint Martin, 75003 between the hours of 10am and 6:30pm, Monday through Friday, to assist with these administrative matters.

Agency of Nice: The day of your arrival at Nice, you should call us on the number that will be provided on your booking confirmation, a member of our team will pick you up right outside the door of your apartment building (VERY IMPORTANT: no host directly to the agency). On this occasion, we will sign the entire lease and an inventory of the apartment. The balance of your stay and an imprint of your credit card (for deposit) will be made. Our team will be happy to give you a plan and advise for places on Nice to perfectly organize your stay.

What happens upon my departure?

Agency of Paris: For shorter stays, our clients may leave the keys in the apartment without performing a check-out directly at the agency. Check out time is 12 noon. There is a 38€ late check out fee until 4pm and a 58€ fee for check outs through 6pm. After your departure, we will check the condition of the apartment. For longer stays, a member of our team will check the condition of the apartment with you before your departure. What is the difference between an apartment and a bed and breakfast or hotel? In choosing an apartment, you have more comfort, space and freedom as if it were your own home at rates that are typically less than a hotel or bed and breakfast. You also have the opportunity to host guests, friends and family in a relaxing environment.

Agency of Nice: For stays of short and long term, an inventory output with the customer and a member of our team is scheduled at check-in.

What is the difference between apartments and hotel rooms?

By choosing an apartment rather than a hotel room, you're sure to have more space, choose the style of decoration, the comfort of feeling at home, some savings, to have more freedom and privacy and to receive friends.

Is it possible to reserve an apartment for a longer stay or business trip?

Yes. More and more travellers choose this option as an alternative to a hotel for their stays. The longer your stay, the more attractive our prices become on a nightly basis. This solution is not only more economically efficient, but allows you to have a true Parisian experience in the city. You are also able to work from the apartment, as most of our apartments have Internet connections.
